Five pups out and Luna was pretty tired by now! We let her take an hour nap, and thought that maybe she was all done. But we sat quiet with Luna in the cool, quiet library, and insisted our excited nine year old, Juliet, stay out (much to her chagrin!) and we watched as Luna’s belly kept quivering with contractions. We felt her tummy very gently and felt something wiggling in there. One more puppy to go!! Luna would’ve liked to sleep the rest of the day away, but we knew she just had to get this last pup out and then her work would be done. So we helped her stand up as gently as we could, gave her a little snack for energy, and helped her birth an almost silvery little Blenheim girl- shining white fur and the lightest tan markings you ever saw, our little runt and last of the litter; Poppy!
