Poppy

Five pups out and Luna was pretty tired by now! We let her take an hour nap, and thought that maybe she was all done. But we sat quiet with Luna in the cool, quiet library, and insisted our excited nine year old, Juliet, stay out (much to her chagrin!) and we watched as Luna’s belly kept quivering with contractions. We felt her tummy very gently and felt something wiggling in there. One more puppy to go!! Luna would’ve liked to sleep the rest of the day away, but we knew she just had to get this last pup out and then her work would be done. So we helped her stand up as gently as we could, gave her a little snack for energy, and helped her birth an almost silvery little Blenheim girl- shining white fur and the lightest tan markings you ever saw, our little runt and last of the litter; Poppy!

Poppy looked like a little angel puppy- all soft silvery fur and pink paws. But her personality was much more feisty than her delicate looks would lead you to believe!

Our feisty girl loved nothing more than to best her brother and sisters in wrestling. She could really hold her own!

But after a good tussle, she was ready to cuddle up in someone’s arms and fall asleep.

Well, Poppy’s new name is “Mini” and she has a new big brother named “Cooper” (isn’t that just the cutest!?) and she is loving her new home! Maybe one day Mini will get to make beautiful babies who are just as angelic as she is!
