Iris

We had a nice clean box set up for her to whelp in, but Luna wanted to whelp under the blue East Texas sky. She scratched at the door so we let her out for what we thought was a quick potty break before the work started, but in the blink of an eye she was popping out puppies!

Luna likes to walk through her contractions, so she took a few laps around the yard (us human folk always a good 10 or 15 feet behind her, watching but not wanting to interfere!) and, whoops! Here was baby number two by a blooming purple Iris! Our tricolor little girl, named Iris after the flower she was born beside, had made her entrance.

Iris was so easy to find whenever we looked at our lovely litter of puppies- she had one beautiful spot on her left shoulder.

She wasn’t the most gregarious puppy- but she wasn’t shy either. It was more like she just had to make sure you were nice before she jumped into your arms. But once she judged you to be worthy… Oh boy! Into the arms! Into the face! Kisses everywhere!

Well, little Iris flew out with Flight Nanny Kayla to her new family in South Carolina and has a big brother all to herself now! She goes by the name Princess Bella Iris, and has two little girls to love her all the time!
