Clover

We had a nice clean box set up for her to whelp in, but Luna wanted to whelp under the blue East Texas sky. She scratched at the door so we let her out for what we thought was a quick potty break before the work started, but in the blink of an eye she was popping out pups!

Luna likes to walk through her contractions, so she took a few laps around the yard (us human folk always a good 10 or 15 feet behind her, watching but not wanting to interfere!)

Well, she started getting tired, so we brought our clean and sterile whelping box into the green grass of the garden and she climbed in quickly, only for us to look down and, wow, another baby!! Well, we had decided on a theme of “Garden” puppies since they were born outside in the Garden, and a patch of clover caught our eye. Our little tricolor girl had her own name, Clover.

She wasn’t the runt of the litter, in fact she was born somewhere in the middle, but as all the pups grew we discovered that Clover was the smallest one!

The tiny girl spent her childhood out in the same Garden she was born in, wrestling with sisters and her one brother, and napping on the porch.

Clover was chosen by a sweet family in Mississippi who decided to name her Mila. She now has the best life a puppy could ask for! Her owners report that she is still as snuggly and playful as ever and loves her new human mama more than anything else in the whole wide world.
