Centerspot

He was born in the night- a dark and stormy night, in fact. At the time we thought it was cute to call the little puppy lumps by their most distinguished marking. We didn’t like the idea of putting collars or string on newborn babies, so we determined who they were by sight alone. This particular puppy had, you guessed it, an especially prominent spot, or “Queen’s Kiss”, square in the middle of his head.

He spent the first four weeks of his life in the Whelping Box, cuddled up with mom and his brothers and sisters. His eyes peeked a little at a time, his ears opened slowly, and with a little practice he was able to scoot around the box. By four weeks of age he was ready to rough and tumble with his siblings!

Once he could walk and play, we let him out into the Garden for the first time. He learned how to chase the squirrels and roll in the dirt and nap in the shade of the front porch.

Finally, he was ready to go to his forever home in Arkansas. We met his new family at a halfway meeting point, and waved goodbye as they laughed and squealed at how cute he was.

Now, Centerspot goes by Charlie, and he spends his days being doted on and getting professionally groomed for photos. He’s even fathered two litters of his own! That’s right, Finnegan is a grandfather and Luna is a grandma! We’re so glad Centerspot, ahem, Charlie went to such a great family and gets to live such a good life!
